Q. Is there a real Hogwarts, or an academy like it? And how can I contact them? A. You can not contact them. They can only contact you. Harry Potter did not go looking for Hogwarts. Hogwarts came looking for him. He was given an invitation. This is much like the type of metaphysical inventation a person gets if one where inclined towards the mystical life of their particular religion. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q. How does a magic wand work? A. A magic wand works because of the wizard's skill in collecting and directing the flow of magical energy. There is magical energy in the universe and personal energy in the wizard. Through training and practice, the wizard is able to focus that energy through a wand or staff. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Q. What is the best material for a magic wand? A. That depends on what you will be using the wand for. Different materials have different properties. The main thing to remember, however, as Mr. Olivander says, is that "the wand chooses the wizard and you will not get as good a result with another wizard's wand". ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Q. How do I know if a wand is choosing me? A. You will feel a strong attraction to that particular wand. |
